For Danny, public service is an ethic and a framework for interpreting the world around him. “It doesn’t matter who we run into, creed, color, situation-you treat everybody the same,” he says. “You just take pride in helping people.
Living curiously means you’re not often left wondering whether or not you got enough out of something. I learned that ‘enough’ is achieved by showing up with a hungry mind, open heart and sometimes- a mouth shut.

My dad and I re-joined our previous routines and habitats with a stronger sense of what matters to us, and a desire to live simply to the best of our ability. For me, that meant getting rid of about 75 percent of my clothing, and making a deal with myself to invest in experiences rather than possessions.
