ANNIE

"It's hard not to use wind analogies in Wyoming" Annie Scott tells me when I ask what Wyoming specifically has taught her about life.

She answered in metaphor about the weather and I immediately understood, as do most who live here.

Residents like Annie who are avid gardeners, figuratively and literally, weather the storm that is Wyoming; it's short growing season, unforgiving pressure systems, and the seemingly endless expanse of barrenness surrounding each and every small town.

"What was it like when you first moved here in your 20s?"

"I felt like everyone was watching me!"

She said that after she had kids however, it actually became a sort of comfort that people were looking out and paying attention.
